Team Member - Office Cleaner
Summary:
Reporting to the Sanitation Team Leader, Shift Leader and Site Leader. The Team Member – Office Cleaner is responsible for the cleanliness of all the office areas during their shift and help with general cleaning.
The Office Cleaner plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness within the welfare and office areas. This position is essential for ensuring a safe and sanitized environment for employee well-being and food safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Ensures the timely and thorough cleanliness of the office areas including but not limited to floors, cafeteria, office kitchen, washrooms, QA lab
- Ensures all of the office areas have been cleaned properly according to the SOP’S, MSCS, and Smart Scheduling task.
- Occasionally assists with general cleaning in the plant
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the outside premises.
- Executes all job duties in strict adherence to the BRC food safety standards, and reports any deviations.
- Strong ability to use internal software platforms and digital tools to plan and organize work.
- Sanitizes and cleans all basins, toilets, doors and fixtures in washrooms/changerooms
- Cleans up the office and team member kitchen, e.g. cleans out the sink, washes out the coffee pot if applicable, and cleans out the microwave. Makes sure there is no food debris on the counters or the floors.
- Inspect for GMP violations in lockers, lunch room and common areas. Notify QA/Team Leaders of any deviations. Report on IQMS application.
- Applicable to home office cleaner : primary responsibilities cleanliness in office areas but with more specific tasks, such as cleaning test kitchens, corporate washrooms, lounge areas, and specific office rooms.
Waste Management
- Ensures the collection of internal and external garbages, empties waste bins, washes as needed and adds new liners.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste according to company sustainability guidelines.
Restocking and Supplies
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other consumables.
- Restock supplies as necessary to ensure availability for team members and visitors.
- Notify leader of any shortages or issues with supplies.
- Makes sure the all dispensers are filled with paper towel, toilet tissue, soap, sanitizer, hairnet, beard net, GMP and safety accessories
Collaboration
- Inspects for proper functioning of all water fountain, hot water in faucets, and toilet sensors and applies red tag for any deviations found.
- May require support in applying snow salt during wintersmonths
- Attend shift handovers, coordinate with other cleaning staff to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
- Monitors email inbox, ensures timely responses and sends emails as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Skills
- Related experience in sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable)
- Previous experience in a sanitation environment using chemicals approved for CFIA is an asset
- importance of maintaining confidentiality in addition to other skills like Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue independently
- Good communication skills, ability to use email and software applications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
- Flexible to work various shifts. Shifts will range between 8-12 hours with some exceptions.
- Weekend work scheduled regularly
