Maintenance Mechanic-Entry
Summary
Responsible for providing overall maintenance support to the production group in the areas of packaging, processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance procedures on equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns by applying skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, basic metal fabrication and analytical problem solving.
- Operate drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine power & hand tools.
- Setup, takedown, and relocation of processing and packaging equipment.
- Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
- Written and oral communication of daily pass-down activities to other technicians and Team Lead.
- Utilize CMMS system and tablets to receive, generate and complete daily assigned Work Orders.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Participate in scheduled building inspection walk thru.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Keep a clean work area.
Required Skills and Experience
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent; technical diploma or certification is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is a must.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is an asset.
- Passionate about Maintenance.
- Complete all other duties as instructed and assigned by Leader.
- Valid Driver’s license may be required.
- Knowledge of working with Robots(Schubert) is an asset.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Vision (Near, Distance, Peripheral, Depth Perception, etc.) Sense of Sound (any safety related equipment)
- Sense of Touch (texture, temperature, pressure, etc.)
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to remain physically active throughout an entire 12hour shift.
