Overview
The Sanitation Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Sanitation Site Leader and direct all hourly team members within the Sanitation Department in all aspects of sanitation practices. Collaborating with other departments to insure Company Sanitation, Safety, Food Safety, Product Quality and Sustainability standards. Creates a safe and respectful teamwork environment for all.

Responsibilities
- Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among everyone.
- Obsessed with efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to training of team members. Conduct shift Huddles and convey pertinent information to all team members. Assign tasks for team members and deadlines.
- Continually meeting our commitment to achieve superior service, cleaning levels and sustainability goals.
- Completes Sanitation records accurately and in a timely manner (Master Cleaning Schedule, Daily Sanitation Record, etc..).
- Trains team members on how to and when to wear PPE and how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment in a sanitary manner.
- Assists Quality with Pre-Op inspections on all equipment to verify cleaning effectiveness. Assist with commissioning of new equipment by validating the equipment before use.
- Assists and training with work instructions, standards & product specifications.
- Assists with all safety and environmental regulations and help team to accomplish these goals. Assist with all required regulations.
- Assist with weekly Sanitation schedule and daily planning.
- Covers departmental scheduling needs for all hourly positions (hours or shift).
- Assists with coordinating wash downs for change overs and shutdowns.
- Observes department call-in procedures and provides assistance when needed to address the attendance infraction.
- Can be relied upon to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Complies with established Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.
- Works within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards.
Requirements
- Ability to work with pressure washers, floor scrubbers, Foamers, sanitizing chemicals etc.
- Must have experience working in a GMP environment doing manufacturing or sanitation.
- Must be knowledgeable in areas of chemical usage, testing, applications and safe use within a Food Manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of proper Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) use as it applies to chemical usage.
- Train on operating internal & eternal software systems at basic level.
- 1-2 years experience in sanitation or related field.
- Able to handle multiple calls to assist plants with supply needs
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Basic written, verbal & presentation skills.
- Multi-tasking & attention to detail skills required
- Must be able to lead several team members.
- Bilingual (Spanish) would be a plus
