Overview:
As a team member, the Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs high-volume food manufacturing equipment. They prioritize personnel and food safety at all times.
- Starting Wage = $33.50/hour + performance raises + $1/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00pm and 6:00am.
- Work Schedule = 2-1-7-4 (4-day weekend every other week)
- 3rd Shift (Night) = 10:50pm - 7:00am; 12 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays scheduled
Responsibilities
- Respond and react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
- Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
- Write parts requests, complete work orders, and write corrective work orders
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Keep a clean work area
- Perform building inspections and routines
- Communicate with other team members
- Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years work experience in a maintenance mechanic environment.
- Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must have a basic understanding of AC/DC motors, motor control circuits, and photoeyes / sensors, etc.
- Knowledge of conveyance a strong plus.
- Must be computer literate.
- Familiarity with CMMS work order systems
- Food manufacturing background a plus with an understanding of FDA requirements
- Must have good attention to detail. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Should be able to understand blueprints and drawings
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts
- Must be able to make decisions
- Should have a working knowledge of the following:
- Welding, Machining, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electricity
- Must be able to work around very strong magnets
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
