Operations Shift Supervisor

Summary 

 

Reporting to the Operations Leader and Site Leader, as the Shift Leaderyou will provide hands-on leadership on a production shift within the plant to ensure that production schedules are met safely and on time, while continually reducing costs and increasing overall efficiencies; all within a fast paced (Just in Time) food manufacturing environment. 

 

Shift Timing :

2nd shift ( 2.00 pm – 11.30 pm )

3rd Shift (10.00 pm – 7.30 am )

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Understands and fulfills the duties of a leader for GMPs, food safety programs, health & safety programs, and FGF policies.
  • Leads by example and fosters a culture of respect and teamwork among team members.
  • Assists with troubleshooting production equipment and maintains basic understanding of all equipment.
  • Leads production Line Leaders, Team Leaders, and shift crews.
  • Prioritizes activities of supporting teams when necessary (maintenance, sanitation, shipping, quality, engineering).
  • Ensures production schedules are met and addresses any issues that arise.
  • Coordinates department schedules, products, and manpower for smooth production.
  • Ensures proper methods and procedures are followed, meeting quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Provides scheduling assistance and resolves production and manpower problems.
  • Provides orientation and training for an efficient workforce.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by enforcing company standards and conducting regular inspections.
  • Utilizes OMS and SCADA systems (when available), follows quality control procedures, and completes daily reports on KPIs.

Required Experience 

 

  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment Must be a demonstrated leader who interacts with others and is adept at leading/motivating a team to meet schedule demands  
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities 
  • Ability to manage difficult people (conflict resolution, team engagement, collaboration) 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  
  • Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed 
  • Working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP & O.H.S.A required 
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
